Job Description:
As a Backend Engineer, you will be responsible for the architecture, implementation and support of features for our Sense platform. Working alongside our existing Engineers, you will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing our engineering standards and delivering high quality code alongside overseeing an agile, multi-disciplined engineering squad.
Responsibilities :
- You’ll develop and maintain server-side code for Sense, and execute on the Product vision
- You will solve complex technical problems.
- Deliver value to the organisation as quickly as possible while minimising risk
- Influence decision making in the technology team
- Participate in the architecture process
- You will create and maintain features that are valuable to customers
- You embrace new challenges and see them as an opportunity to grow and learn.
- You have some experience or an interest in learning to develop services using Typescript
- You will contribute to the development and improvement of the security capabilities of Sense.
What experience do you need to succeed in this position
- Extensive experience developing large-scale software products
- Solid experience developing using Node.JS
- You have experience using TypeScript
- Understanding of server-side development and a RESTful API layer
- You’re T-shaped – having a broad range of technology knowledge and interests with greater depth in some areas.
Bonus points for
- Understanding of design and best practices for microservices and distributed systems
- Experience with event driven systems
- Retail banking technology background
- In-depth knowledge of Kubernetes and container orchestration
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines with GitLab
- Experience with Amazon Web Services
