- Candidate should have sound medical/technical and coding knowledge to process the coding applications. He/she should have good decision-making ability referring to standard guidelines and principles. Productivity and Quality are the key KPI for this process.
- Assign codes to diagnoses and procedure, using ICD (International Classification of Diseases) and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology) codes
- Ensure codes are accurate and sequenced correctly in accordance with medical coding policies and guidelines
- Ensuring documents are grammatically correct and free from typing errors
- Follow up with the provider on any documentation that is insufficient or unclear
- Search for information in cases where the coding is complex or unusual
- Receive and review patient charts and documents or accuracy
- Ensure that all codes are current and active
- Work collaboratively with other team members and support adjudication in complex cases.
- Education: Paramedic (Fresher / Experienced)
- 0-3 years Exp
- Knowledge of ICD 10 Medical coding
- Certification: AAPC certification is a must
- Knowledge of basic medical coding, terminology and third party procedures and practices
- Ability to operate a computer and basic office equipment
- Able to work independently
